Our newly enhanced school model reflects our commitment to providing a seamless continuum of development from infancy through VPK.
Caterpillars (3–11 Months)
Our infant classroom focuses on creating secure attachments and nurturing relationships during a child's most rapid period of brain development. Teachers provide individualized care while intentionally supporting language acquisition, sensory exploration, motor development, and social-emotional security. Every interaction is viewed as a learning opportunity that fosters trust, confidence, and wonder.
Ladybugs (12–23 Months)
As children begin walking, communicating, and exploring their independence, our Ladybug program provides rich opportunities for discovery and connection. Through music, movement, sensory play, language-rich experiences, and guided exploration, children develop foundational communication, social, and cognitive skills within a loving and structured environment.
Butterflies (24–29 Months)
The Butterfly classroom embraces the natural curiosity of the young toddler. Teachers intentionally facilitate experiences that encourage problem-solving, communication, independence, and creativity. Through hands-on learning and purposeful play, children strengthen emerging academic skills while developing confidence and self-awareness.
Bumblebees (30–35 Months)
As children continue to grow in independence, the Bumblebee classroom introduces increased structure and intentional learning experiences. Students engage in literacy-rich activities, early mathematical concepts, STEM exploration, creative arts, and social-emotional learning opportunities that build the foundational skills necessary for future academic success.
Dragonflies (36–42 Months)
The Dragonfly classroom represents a significant transition into a more school-centered learning environment. Utilizing Frog Street Curriculum and Conscious Discipline, children participate in intentional instruction designed to develop language and literacy, mathematical thinking, scientific inquiry, faith formation, and social competence. Learning experiences are thoughtfully planned to cultivate curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Grasshoppers (42–48 Months)
Our Grasshopper students continue strengthening academic readiness through enriched learning opportunities that promote independence, problem-solving, communication, and leadership. Children engage in project-based exploration, literacy development, STEM investigations, social-emotional growth, and faith-centered experiences that prepare them for the rigor and expectations of VPK.
VPK4 (4–5 Years Old)
Our Voluntary Prekindergarten program serves as the culmination of the Holy Cross early childhood experience. Through a rigorous yet developmentally appropriate approach, students build strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and critical thinking while continuing to develop social-emotional competence through Conscious Discipline.
Students engage in intentional small-group instruction, collaborative learning opportunities, STEM experiences, faith formation, leadership development, and enrichment activities that foster confidence, independence, and kindergarten readiness. By the completion of VPK, students are prepared not only to meet but often exceed kindergarten expectations academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
