Our mission at Holy Cross Catholic Preschool and Center is to witness God’s love to ALL people, especially migrants, immigrants, and refugees within the Diocese of Palm Beach.

Through early childhood education, quality child care and the teaching of adult basic skills in an environment that fosters the gospel values of justice, mercy, and love, the family unit will be empowered, encouraged and guided to integrate fully into their new culture while retaining and cherishing the culture to which they belong.

In 1994, an anonymous donor gave the Diocese of Palm Beach a large donation to open a school within Palm Beach County to emulate Hope Rural School in Indiantown, Florida. In March of 2000, a group of Holy Cross Sisters gathered in West Palm Beach to test the viability of exploring an option for a family support ministry in Florida. After reviewing community needs, Holy Cross leadership asked the Sisters to take on the responsibility for a new project being inaugurated by the Diocese of Palm Beach.

On March 1, 2004, Sr. Yvonne Arcand, CSC, serving as the founding School Director, opened the doors of Holy Cross Catholic Preschool and Center to 14 students ranging from 3 months to 4 years old. Today, Holy Cross continues to provide exceptional quality child care and preschool education to residents of Palm Beach County. The enrollment of 100 students consists of a diverse economic and cultural population. The Literacy Program has grown to serve many adults and families in areas of ESOL, Technology, Family Literacy, Citizenship, Cooking and Baking, Sewing and Homework Helper.
